Politeness

It's something I struggle with every day of my life - not BEING polite; but being OVER-polite. One time, I was at a friend's house, walking through her dining room - I walked into an EMPTY chair, & said, "Excuse me". THAT'S definitely over-polite. At times, I would feel responsible for Bosnia, Ethiopia, & every other horrible situation in the world. My question/struggle is, "How far do you perpetuate the politeness? Thank you! Thank you, too! - DONE -" It really IS possible to go too far. Do you say thank-you for a thank-you card? Where does it end? Could go on for days, or even years!!! I guess the bottom-line is, it's better to be over-polite, than not polite at all. I save my "nauseating, bubbly polite" for my nastiest customers. I WIN!!! Sorry this post is a little choppy - I struggled with it. Please bear with my humanness. Have a good day & be safe...
