Waiting on Hold...

Sometimes, in life, we all have to ask for help. In this day in age, "Hold" has become the new "normal". You sit there, "patiently" listening to the canned, happy music; while they tell you your call is important, so please continue to hold.

Do you feel important; or does it make you feel stupid? Do you sometimes forget why you're holding? In this day of instant gratification, people like myself, and maybe you, go completely nuts and yell at the phone, "Please don't put me on hold!!! Ugh!!!" Yeah, the struggle is real.

Unfortunately, with technology replacing the need for humans more and more, we have to fight for the human connection. This saddens me. I'm a people person. Even the daily news is losing its' reality ability. "Seeing is Believing" is a moot point!!!

Before I digress too far, ha-ha; how can we maintain our human connections? Are you on your phone, or another mechanical device when you're with someone, or with a group? I'm guilty, and really do try to avoid this when am with my friends. It's almost like back in the Old West; when one gun comes out, everyone pulls theirs - only nowadays, it's technological devices. You see people on dates, watching tv, in meetings, eating dinner with the family, at the movies, etc, all on their phones. Again, I'm guilty.

Let's start this "trending", and #putdownyourphone!!! Don't put your friends, or family on "hold"!!! Interact with them!!! Share your day with them in words not in print; but the spoken language. If you want to do it in writing, write a letter. Share yourself. Not just pictures you've copied and pasted to an impersonal timeline. Again, guilty...

Have a good day, and be safe, and take someone off "hold" and really connect...
