Why 'Me' Time is Even More Important, Now...
When I was a Senior in High School, the final morning bell rang at 8:15. I would get up at 8, and my Mother would drive me the approximate 6 blocks to school, and I made it right on time!!!
Those days are LOOOONG gone. At least the getting up 15 minutes before I had to be somewhere. I now get up at least 3 hours before I work - even if I start at 7am. The caveat there, is when I sometimes work til 10 or 11, the night before; but, that is MY time to chill before I go to my often stressful retail job.
I have considered adapting it - but I worked so hard to get to the "me time", I don't want to mess with my flow, ya know??!
Now, does this mean I make it to work really early, every day? No!!! But that is slowly improving...lol. Baby steps, right??! Can't get all amazing at once!!! 😉😉😉
There are "night people", "morning people" - 24 hours to choose from. When you take the time to figure out what you are, it can help with your sleep, your mental well-being, even your overall health.
Even on my days off, I have a set time to get up. I used to hear professionals say you needed to get up, and go to bed at the same time, every day, to take care of yourself. Well, since I do shift-work, and my hours are so wonky; I was looking at up every day at 5, and in bed by midnight. Hard no!!!
Once my brain kinda kicked in, and a solution started to form, so did my sleep improvement. Now, if I could just control some of my "work dreams"!!! But, I digress.
How often have I said, "I can only do what I can do.", right??! The important part is to make ME a priority and do what I can.
I challenge you, as you are possibly thinking of self-improvements to make as the New Year approaches, to make YOU your number one priority, and do what you can. Remember, you ARE worthwhile...
