"Everything worthwhile is a practice..." - BB - SuperSoul Sunday, re her book - "Rising Strong".
I used to be one of those, "This is just who I am. Take it or leave it." people. I was VERRRRRY negative and needy; and just could NOT get over that "hump" of my life.
I know I have friends that feel they can no longer be around me, because of the way I used to be. I own that, and to them - I am very sorry.
One day, while talking to a friend from across the country, I was on a, basically manic, negative rant. She interrupted, and asked me, "WHAT ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR??!"
I had previously had many people tell me I needed to be grateful - but my "inner" (and deeply injured) ears could not get past my pain to the gratitude.
When she asked me that, something just clicked.
I have been PRACTICING Gratitude, some days better than others, for at least four to five years, now.
Yes, I said practicing - as with most worthwhile things, they don't just happen, at first - you have to work at it.
I get up every morning, and as I drink my coffee, I try to determine how I want my day to go. NO day is 100% to plan; but some days, I feel at least 75-80%.
I just keep "Practicing my Gratitude". I know what it's like, when I don't. I would much rather have those odds leaning in my favor - wouldn't you??!
Have a good day, and be safe... #2021LATE beamererin.com #JusTSpInnIngPlaTes firstname.lastname@example.org
