Do You Remember??! (Connie J...)
I have been thinking about my "projects" for our AADV Art Exhibit, on June 28, 2019, for the biggest part of this last year; and been focusing, primarily, on the perspective of my 6 year old self.
I believe part of the reason MAY be because I started Kindergarten a month before I turned 6. Before that, my entire world was pretty small, and familiar.
The more I was exposed to the world outside my bubble, the more questions. However, you weren't encouraged to ask "some" questions, and you NEVER discussed what happened at home, elsewhere...anywhere, REALLY.
This caused a LOT of questions to be stuffed waaaay down, deep inside. They, along with many others, didn't begin to be dealt with until I was in my 30's.
24+ years of stuffing feeling, after feeling - I sometimes wonder how I didn't end up more like Wednesday Adams, instead of Alice in Wonderland??! I STILL asked a LOT of questions. Heck, I still do, today!!!
I was a good little girl, though; and relatively good teenager. My 20's were primarily my search for God - that was a bit of a hypocritical wild-ride, let me tell ya, but I will not digress.
How old were you, when you realized your life was definitely not like a television show? When did you start to deal with it - or have you ever? Is your childhood still controlling your adult life?
Have a good day, and be safe... #ENDtheSILENCEofVIOLENCE #EtSoV
