There is Still Time... (Connie J...)
(shared on April 26, 2021)
I know, regarding Domestic Violence, that there is always a sense of urgency; but we also need to keep in mind that timing is just as important.
I'm not saying there are not emergency situations that need to be handled immediately; but, there are also small steps that can be taken, to start with:
- Having an honest conversation with a friend, family member, even YOURSELF, etc.
- Admitting there IS a problem you need to deal with.
- Connecting with a shelter, to see what tips they can give to assist you.
- Gathering paperwork you may need if your living situation changes; writing details of abuse, etc - again, if it can be done safely. If not, ask a safe person to hold the information you have collected.
As in everything in life, doing what you can, when you can, is good.
Remember, safety - yours and your children's is the bottom line. If the process becomes dangerous, talk to the Shelter - they
have people trained for this.
Have a good day, and be safe... #ENDtheSILENCEofVIOLENCE #walkinTHEIRshoes #EtSoV www.ozerministriesinc.com
*October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please share this, no matter what month it is, to help get the word out. The Victim has to make the choice - but, "What If..." they read something you sent them, that makes the difference? #walkinTHEIRshoes
*I will be sharing a "What If..." post on the first Monday, of every month. I would love to share YOUR "what ifs". Please send your "What If..." ideas to Connie J... - firstname.lastname@example.org; or through Ozer, at the website or email, email@example.com.
