When you hear this word, do you think of that person that always seems to be "up", nothing seems to get to them, etc?
Did you know that, often, the most positive people have gone through the most negative situations?
Being a positive person does NOT mean that nothing bad happens in their lives - it's that they consciously make the choice to not let it bring them down. If they were to tell you, if you asked them, specifically, about something horrible they either were going/had gone through; you would be both horrified AND amazed at their strength in their positivity.
My Mother was one of those people. Now, I do understand she chose to remain married to my father for 64 years, despite being emotionally abused, probably most of that time. While I can see, what I perceive, as the weakness of her choices; through our conversations after I realized what was really going on, I can also see the strong/positive woman my Mother chose to be ("As my Mother was, before me." - DIJ)
I've, often, heard it said, "Life is what you make it..." (Eleanor Roosevelt). My Mother made her life, by doing the best she could.
Now, her children DID suffer as a result of her choices (as is the circle of life); but each person has to make their own choices - whether to thrive, or be crushed by the choices of their previous generation.
Which are YOU going to choose?

*October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please share this post, no matter what month it is, to help get the word out. The Victim has to make the choice - but, "What If..." they read something you sent them, and it just "clicks"?
*I share a "What If..." post on the first Monday, of every month, and I would love the opportunity to share YOUR "what ifs". Please send your "What If..." ideas to Connie J... - firstname.lastname@example.org; or through Ozer, at the website or email, email@example.com.
