Letting People Be Where They Are... (Connie J...)
When I first began my healing process - I was in a very hurt and angry place. I wanted to rent a billboard and broadcast EVERY hurt, and EVERY perpetrator.
I did not, and I moved on from there - but we have to remember in our efforts to help people in THEIR healing process, to let them be where they are. To feel all their feelings.
Us trying to "dial them back" (which is really to make US more comfortable) will NOT help them.
Besides, the chances of them doing some of the wild ideas they come up with to get "revenge", etc, really are slim - and if they do, it will be their consequences for their own actions.
If we try and "control" them, and "make" them make better choices - haven't they been through that enough in their victimization?
Have a good day, and be safe... #listen #ibelieveyou #doyouhear
*October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please share this post, no matter what month it is, to help get the word out. The Victim has to make the choice - but, "What If..." they read something you sent them, and it just "clicks"?
*I share a "What If..." post, on the first post of every month, and I would love the opportunity to share YOUR "what ifs". Please send your "What If..." ideas to Connie J... - firstname.lastname@example.org; or through Ozer, at the website or email, email@example.com.
